After being at work all day, my husband came home to what I like to call the "never-ending whiny sound" that had taken my house hostage. Most of the time Nolan is a great baby, but right now we are going in and out of the teething phases. We'll be great for about a week, and then like later today he started drooling uncontrollably and wanting everything to go in his mouth accompanied by this whiny cry that just gets underneath my skin. Anyhow, I hadn't really told my husband what kind of day I had experienced, but he probably figured it out from my disheveled appearance. Without even asking for some assistance, my husband came to my rescue to entertain the little monster for most of the evening. This allowed me to regain my sanity and to make some of Nolan's baby food (sweet potatoes and yellow squash if you were wondering), eat dinner, and even clip some coupons. I know that after a long day especially on a Monday the last thing he probably wants to come home to is this unfavorable environment...heck I would just keep on driving if it was me. However, he did what any good dad would do and tried to make his little boy feel better. It didn't take him long until he had Nolan laughing and smiling. So here's to you oh dear husband...for lending a helping hand in a time of need...(so that I don't lose my mind) and for being a great dad!

We have days like that too. They're unavoidable, but luckily the joys of being a stay at home mom usually outweigh the yucky days.

ReplyDeletethis sounds way too familiar! For the past two days Giada's been so cranky! I was thinking that maybe she is teething, but her gums don't look like it. It was driving me off the wall!!! And it is especially worse since the hubby has been working a LOT of overtime hrs lately, and I couldn't really have a break from any of it. But last night when he came home, she got SO excited to see him ( I swear she is sick of me) and he made her happy in no time! Double yay for awesome husbands! And another yay for homemade baby food!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful gift your husband gave you! I love that he could give both of you comfort and supportive love in different ways.
