Capturing the Small Moments

It's been a gorgeous week here so far, and we are soaking up the SUN! After a very dreary and rainy December and early January it's been a relief to see the sunshine. Today it reached over 60 degrees!

(On the way back from a gorgeous day from the park with a little pit stop for a snack. These boys have to get waters in a cup just like Mom and Dad!)

I need to get around to writing some updates on the boys since Conley is approaching 2 1/2, and Nolan will soon by 4 1/2 in April. SAY WHAT? Seriously I still can't fathom that I've been mom for four years.

I can't believe I've also had a blog for almost 4 YEARS!!! In March, I'll be celebrating that anniversary. As I don't post over here as much as I like, I'm still thankful to have this as an outlet and a journal for keeping up with the boys. If it wasn't for this blog, I would never had KMB!

Speaking of KMB, we had a Photography Mom's Night Out and the photographer was sharing with us to embrace our phone as our camera. It's with you and quick to use. My biggest takeaway was her saying take photos of everyday life---photos that evoke emotion in you. Not your ones where everyone staring at the camera but those small tidbits in life that you want to remember. Little baby toes and whisps of curly toddler hair. Those are the moments you want to capture and hold close to your heart. Jenny our KMB contributor wrote a great piece about it after that night. Be sure to check it out!

Just trying to catch the little things...because sometimes those are what mean the most!

A Belated Happy New Year

Happy New Year! Yes I'm a little behind on my first post of the new year but what are you going to do?

We had a great Christmas, and the boys are swimming in trucks and Legos.

I finally finished book 6 of The Outlander Series. These books are so long! Sometimes I dislike series because I get so vested in them. Sometimes the one and done are my fave!

This weekend the whole house had the stomach flu. It started with Conley vomiting all over himself in the car on Thursday. Seriously the WORST THING EVER. Then Sunday at 4am I woke up with it, and then Nolan at 7am. The hubby joined the fun at around 4pm. I think I've earned like 10 mom badges this weekend. Stomach bugs are no joke, and I don't with them on my worst enemy!

As the holidays end, I am already finding January to be a busy month for the family. Lots of birthday parties, KMB events, KMB meetings (speaking of KMB check out this awesome post!), husband traveling, and volleyball games. Yep that's right the husband and I signed up for a co-ed league back in December. It only lasts until the end of this month, but it's been so much fun and just the right amount of games so you don't feel overwhelmed. We lost last night, but we've won a few too. It's nice to play volleyball again...it's truly such a fun game!

With the new year, I'm also looking for some new tasty but simple recipes. Do you know any? If so, share with me in the comments!

Short and sweet today, but hope to post more soon!
