The Princess Look-A-Like

I'm sure you are like me and most of the world in the fact that you probably watched at least a portion of the Royal Wedding. Kate looked beautiful and elegant as expected. It was so sweet to watch because you know Prince William and Kate wanted to bust out smiling but they were really trying to be all proper. They are a modern day fairytale but one that everyone can relate to since Kate just seems like a normal gal who just happened to fall in love with her prince charming. In this case, he is actually a real prince! Can you imagine trying to sleep the night before knowing the next day you will be princess? I'm sure she didn't sleep a wink. Anyways, the point of this post is that I think that Lauren Conrad and Kate look-a-like. Maybe it's the very defined eyes...or maybe it's the smile. Do you think they favor or am I just crazy?

You Know You Are a Mom When...Part 2!

1. You can do most activities with one arm. These include but are not limited to cooking, cleaning, and even using the bathroom while holding your baby. (Don't act like you haven't done that!)

2. Your car stereo is your best friend because it's there to drown out the baby cries as you drive.

3. You leave the house with like 5 bags but you still end up forgetting something for the little rugrat.

4. You cringe at the static from the baby monitor because you know when you look over to the clock it's going to be before 6am.

5. Your house is now taken over by baby toys, activities, and swings. Where did your cute house go? It has been taken over by the baby monster!

Happy Tuesday Everyone!

Happy Easter Everyone!

Today was Nolan's first Easter and between his basket from the Easter Bunny, gifts from both grandparents, great-aunt, and his great-grandmother he really racked up! This kid must have some super baby charm!
I hope everyone had a great Easter with your loved ones! :)

You Know You Are a Mom When...

1) You can take a shower in record time (that is if you find time to take one!) We're talking 5 minutes or less...hoping that you cleaned the important parts.

2) You eat faster than a starving dog. You realize this when you are out in public without your kid and people stare at you because you just swallowed your food down like it was your last meal even though you aren't even with your baby!

3) You consider being dressed up if you made it out of your yoga pants and put a dab of makeup on. Maybe just maybe you even brushed your hair!

4) You still consider a shirt clean even if it has a little bit of spit up or pee on it.

5) You find yourself doing a rocking motion even though you are not holding your baby!

HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE! Hope you get to spend it with your loved ones! :)

It's The Little Things...

It's the little things that drive me crazy...here's a short list from the past week that just drive me batty.

1) Being honked at as I pull out of my street onto the main highway. Look it's a blind curve, and I have to dart out like a bat out of H#$% so I don't get hit from the other direction. Believe me I don't want to endanger my life or my little baby so I really don't want to pull out in front of you. If you weren't going 70 down a 45 mph road, we wouldn't have that problem. So slow down and don't honk at me as if I just randomly pulled out in front of you. I assure you I didn't.

2) Today I saw a lady leave her buggy in between two cars. That's twice in one week! What's worse it was one of those little itty bitty carts. I gave the lady a rude look but she still just left it there.

3) As I was walking in the dry cleaners today with the baby carrier and my bag of clothes to drop off, a lady is walking out. I thought great she can hold the door open for me. Nope...she basically slammed the door in my face. Really, lady? I am not asking for special treatment because I have a baby, I'm just asking for common courtesy. Heck I always hold the door for people even if they don't have a baby. It's just a nice NORMAL thing to do.

4) My dog finds it necessary to bark as soon as the garage door opens. You know it's my husband why do you bark like a maniac? Quit trying to sabotage nap time!

I'm sure there are more, but that's all my mom brain can remember!

Another One Bites The Dust

Here is my dog Molly. She's an 8-year old Jack Russell Terrier that just loves some soft squishy toys, until she decides she must DESTROY them. She starts by just suckling on it, almost like she is remembering back to her pup days and being with her mom. Then something happens and she decides this toy MUST DIE and she pulls out all the stuffing and makes a huge mess. Not a big deal since I stopped buying those types of toys for her. However, little boy does have some of these toys. I remember being worried about the dogs getting his toys in the beginning but they never did. Until Molly saw a soft squishy toy that she couldn't resist. First it was the soft monkey who was the first casualty. He survived but does have an ear missing. Then it was the cute little frog that has teething hands and feet that she kept eyeballing. I had caught her smelling it, and promptly told her "No this isn't your toy." She knows it isn't her toy, but she just can't help herself. She has taken off with the irresistible little frog toy twice but no damage had been done. Last night I found stuffing under the bed, and I knew that Mr. Froggy had lost the battle with Molly. I found the rest of his remains in another room that she never goes into so she knew she was doing something bad and that she had to hide with it. Poor Mr. Froggy has bit the dust...we loved you and hope you are enjoying stuffed animal heaven.

Squeaky Shoes...What The Heck?

Today when I was at the bookstore I kept hearing this repetitive squeaky sound. I thought man that sure does sound like that same annoying squeak my dogs' toys make. I look over to see that it is a little girl's shoes making the squeaky noise! Now I know I am new to mommyhood but seriously squeaky shoes? I have never heard of these nor could I even imagine hearing that sound over and over in my household. I can't even take it when my dog squeaks her toy incessantly, hence the reason I stopped buying those types of toys. Ironically, I get home and have an email from my local Stroller Strides about what...you guessed it...Squeaky Shoes! Apparently, they can help kids learn to walk. But I ask myself at what expense...your sanity? I know it says you can silence the squeaker, but I can just imagine a child being upset because now their shoes don't squeak. So to all you moms out there, have you heard of squeaky shoes and do your children own a pair?

6 Months Already?!

My sweet little boy turns 6 months tomorrow. I can't believe that you are already 1/2 a year old! Where does the time go? Last week we started your solid food journey. You did not like rice cereal at all, and I'm pretty sure your first word was "Yuck" but who could blame you? So we started you on some homemade pears. You didn't say yuck, but you didn't know what to think either. Hey they taste good to me! You love standing up in your activity center now, and I can actually tell you to stand up and you will stretch those little legs as far as they can go. You are still rolling all over the place, and I don't know where I'll find you if I walk out the living room. Usually you are off the activity mat on the hardwood floor looking like a fish out water as you try to swim across the floor. You are so close to crawling, but everyone tells me not to rush that because once you start you will be gone and baby proofing will be a must. You made your first trip to the zoo last month, and we had our first epic fail of traveling alone due to a traffic accident. You already like to dance and get a kick out when we sing and dance around with you. You also love it when your daddy plays "Superbaby" with you and makes you a baby airplane. We don't go to your next doctor visit until next week, but you are close to 15 lbs and over 26 inches tall. You are wearing 6 month and 6-9 month clothing. You are still teething but the first two are still just under the surface. We are still going to Stroller Strides where you will soon to learn to hit on the older girl babies. This weekend you will have your first Easter with your first Easter basket! I enjoy hitting all the milestones, but it is also sad because that means you are growing up and won't be little for long. Happy 6 Months my little love!
