Oh Weekend, Where Did You Go?

I felt like this weekend flew by!  And here we are at dreaded Monday again.  I don't know what the weather was like in your area, but it was sunny and super, super windy!  Like almost so windy it would almost knock Nolan down when we were outside playing.  We were pretty productive this weekend by putting together a garage cabinet to store coats and other items that were in my guest room also the future baby #2 nursery.  I'm learning that we are becoming quite efficient in learning how to use every inch of square footage we have in this house.  We also took a time out to play at the park with Nolan and our Jack Russell Molly.  Here are some pics:

The Before and After

It has been completely crazy around these parts lately.  We've been on home renovation overload for the past few weeks.  We now have new siding---which looks AWESOME and 10 times better than what we had before.  Last weekend my husband painted the foundation gray to match since it was previously brown, and he also painted our whole shed that was also the same colors as the house.  We had new gutters put on (yes that part is a little less glamorous but much needed after the storm damage last year), and we now have trees!  We literally had like 2 trees on our property...now we have like 20!  So now it's time for some before and after pics.  I'll wait to take some pics of the trees to give them time to bloom and grow.  Anyways, without further ado:

Please ignore the huge laurel and boxwoods.  They have all been removed and will be replaced with smaller plants that don't try to take over the house.  We are also changing our front porch/entrance so stay tuned!

Calling on All Mommy Experts

Now that the secret is out about baby #2 joining our family in August I am calling in you mommy experts for some advice.  Here are some questions that swim through my brain and cause me not to lose sleep.  Many of you are parents to multiple children, so I want to see how you do it...and maybe just maybe it will give me faith that I can too!

1)  How do you leave the house with a brand new baby and a toddler?  Right now I don't let Nolan walk in stores and etc. because the child will take off as he pleases.  So he's either in a cart, a stroller, or my arms.  So obviously with a new baby this becomes more difficult.  How do you go to the store and run every day errands?

2)  Obviously the baby will sleep a lot more than the toddler does.  How do you manage to keep the toddler from waking the baby? 

3)  How do you keep your energy up for the toddler when the baby has kept you up most of the night?

4)  How do you even blog???? :)

5)  Is it possible to prepare dinner in a timely manner?

6)  How do you make sure the toddler is getting enough attention?

I think these are my starter questions...I know I have tons more, but I haven't had enough coffee.  And YES I do still drink coffee while pregnant. :)  Just one cup though!

Some Exciting News...

Nolan is going to be a big brother!  His shirt says "Best Brother Ever" but trying to get him to stay still for a photo is almost impossible.  I am currently 16 weeks, and baby #2 is expected on August 3rd.

We find out if it's a boy or a girl on March 7th!  We are so excited and can't wait for Nolan to have a sibling to run around and play with.

Getting to Know You

I haven't really written an "about me" post which is kind of sad since I have been blogging for almost a year.  However, when I saw Neely's link up from several of my bloggy friends I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to do so!

So if you're new here from the blog hop, here's a little about me!

I started blogging because I had several friends telling me I should do it.  After much peer pressure, I gave in and never looked back.  I had no idea what kind of friends I woud find or the supportive mommy community that I have now.

I was a workaholic in the financial industry until I gave birth to our first child, Nolan on October 20, 2010.

After he was born, we decided I would become a stay at home mom with our new addition.  You can read about my natural child birth experience here.  I also am a cloth diapering momma which is not something I thought I would ever say.  I actually really enjoy it, and I have written a few posts about my experience with cloth diapers.

I also am not the domestic type, so I've had to work on transitioning from a working professional to a SAHM. 

It's hard to believe my son is almost 16 months old.  We had "An Anchors Aweigh" themed 1st Birthday party.

My husband and I used to travel a lot, but this has definitely slowed down since having a little one.  I am hoping we will pick this back up once we start doing the fun family vacations.

I do try to read on my Kindle quite a bit, so if you're a reader you can find me on Goodreads.  I'm actually in between books, so any suggestions are welcome.
