The sun was out and the temperature was above 70 degrees. After all the snow we've had this year, it felt like heaven. As I said in my last post, sunshine is really good for the soul. And I completely believe that.
We took the boys to the park, and this was really the first time Conley has really had the chance to really walk for a really long period outside. It's been to cold, or we've using the stroller. Seeing him explore and checking out his new surroundings, and seeing those little legs toddler along was just a great moment that I'll keep with me always.
I decide to be present and left my phone in the car. No checking emails or social media. I just enjoyed my boys with no interruptions.
We sat down, and Nolan wanted to make a fire pit out of sticks. So we did. We sat in the sun and collected stick and pine cones and made our own "pretend fire." Conley walked up and down the "shake shake bridge" (if your child is a Thomas fan you will get this.)
We then left and put down the boys to nap, and even Nolan napped due to being tired and still recovering from being sick.
I then headed out to a free barre class, and it was the best workout. If you haven't check out a class, DO IT. My body is paying for it today, but it is totally worth it.
I then came home and made one of my favorite and easy dinner recipes, Cheesy BBQ Sloppy Joes. Even have leftovers for tonight!
It was just the perfect day. How about you, how was your weekend?

I love those kinds of Sundays. They are always so good for the soul! :) And those sloppy Joe's sound delicious!-Ashley
ReplyDeleteOh a warm weather day sounds heavenly!! It still hasn't been warm enough for outdoor play here. :-(
ReplyDeleteWe love Sloppy Joes! What a great day! I want 70 degree weather:)
ReplyDeleteWell yes, that does sound perfect :)
ReplyDeleteThat really does sound like the perfect day.
ReplyDeleteWe had a busy weekend of running errands and taking care of business. Although that isn't quite as perfect as yours, checking things off the list is pretty close to perfect for me.
That sounds so nice! We could use some sun, too!
ReplyDeleteI've never taken a barre class, but I've been hearing how tough they are. Not sure sure if they're a "thing" in London since I've heard about it only from my American friends.
Sounds perfect! Those days away from the internet are wonderful, aren't they? I love just hanging out with family!
ReplyDeleteYou know what I like about your perfect weekend? It was simple. It was enjoying the every day nature and love. Nothing fancy to it and no need for fancy stuff to be perfect. My weekend, not so perfect, but even in the flaws, we found love.
ReplyDeleteAy carumba, I just started Whole30 (a 30 day program of eating clean and whole) and those sloppy joes are making me DROOL!!! I do really like those days away from the computer. Some times so much that I contemplate giving up blogging. But then I go bonkers!
ReplyDeleteThose barre classes do look fabulous!
ReplyDeleteOk, this totally resonated with me. Des learned to walk around Thanksgiving. So he's never really gotten to play outside much! That's why in my post today it shows how bewildered he was about us all gallivanting on the deck on Saturday. They'll all get their spring and summer legs soon!
aren't these just the days that put sunshine in your heart and joy in your soul?!
ReplyDeleteso glad you had one of these perfect days -- they make all the hard work so worth it, and are much sweeter for it.
People often ask me why I don't have a lot of daily pictures of my kids or our activities on my blog. Well, because when we are together and doing stuff: I often do not have a phone or camera with me. And some of those moments, I preserve just for us.
We had a weekend full of sunshine & I agree, so very good for the soul!!!!! :). Beautiful pics! P

Sounds like a great way to spend a Sunday! I'm so glad the weather is warming up. It does my soul good to be outside.
ReplyDeleteI am very jealous of your weather. Mind you, it was warm here, in the 50s, but I would so love 70s.
ReplyDeleteSounds wonderful! We had a great Sunday too. Very warm & sunny here as well so we explored 2 parks. Wore all 3 of us out! LOL
ReplyDeleteSloppy Joes always remind me of my mom. She made the best ones! :) Glad you had a good day. My weekend was busy, but awesome, thanks for asking! ;)
ReplyDeleteSounds like a great day!! I love Sundays!! Glad you had a good one!!
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like a truly wonderful day. And those sloppy joes look yummy!
ReplyDeleteOh that sloppy joe looks good! That does sound like a wonderful day. Good for you for just being present in the moment. I often bring out my phone "just to take a picture" but yea always get sucked into reading at least one e-mail.
ReplyDeleteSunday was gorgeous here too! Our littlest one was sick so I stayed home while the big one went to the park and got out some much needed energy!
ReplyDeleteI love weekends like that. Beautifully captured. (PS- I think I am going to get certified to teach barre classes! Did you enjoy it?)
