So you know how our house had the sickies for like a week? We have finally survived and are in the clear. I had some friends invite us to go play at the mall play area, and I thought heck no, not with two healthy children...I will not tempt the winter germs to attack my children. Let's be honest that little play area is a cesspool of germs!
Now we're dealing with Conley's teething. When Nolan was this age, he did a lot of whining. I remember thinking if I hear one more whine I just might stuff any object in my ear to block out the sound.
Now? Well I would gladly take Nolan's whining to Conley's loud crying. It is seriously so loud! And of course with teething comes the not napping and the not sleeping well. I could live with him being awake, but as of now if he's awake he's crying with his hands stuffed in his mouth as a chewing apparatus.
I know it's just a phase, but I'm thinking wow we've only got two coming in right now, and just 18 more to go! I think I need a glass of wine...maybe two...heck just give me the whole bottle.
Thank goodness my mother-in-law is watching the boys tomorrow evening. Time for a date night with the husband---maybe some mexican food and a margarita!
Natalie
Maybe even two margaritas! The sound of a child crying is probably one of the worst especially when you know that there really isn't much you can do for them when they're in pain. Hoping all the teeth come in quickly!
ReplyDeleteOMG, And here, I'm worried about childbirth.. oh the joys to look forward to :) Thanks for keeping me grounded :)
ReplyDeleteHeck no to those play areas!!! They skeeve me out BIG TIME! Sorry about the teething, no fun... just or a pitcher of margaritas! lol.
ReplyDeleteTeething really is the worst. We're going through the 2 year molars right now. I cannot wait for Aubrey to be done. Hope you guys get some rest and a break from the teething action soon!
ReplyDeleteAgreed. A mall play place is no place for a healthy child during winter. Hang in there with the teething.
ReplyDeletemexican and a margarita sounds like a good remedy to teething! :-)
ReplyDeleteCorrection-- TWO margaritas!
ReplyDeleteOh Natalie, I FEEL your pain! My little one is teething SO SLOWLY and painfully! I don't remember it being this bad with the other two! She is waking up every night, sometimes two or three times, and it's obviously painful. And like a little beaver, she has gnawed her way around her crib. I'm going to have to take a picture! This too shall pass my friend, then we get to go through potty training hell!!! aaaarrgh. But at least I can sleep during potty training!!!
ReplyDeletePoor guy! Teething is no fun at all! When he gets older, I would suggest freezing a bagel. That is what I did for Eli when he was getting his one year molars. The plastic stuff just never worked for him.
ReplyDeleteHope you get that margarita!
Teething is no fun momma! I hope it gets better soon!
ReplyDeleteHang in there momma and I'm thinking 2 margaritas AND that bottle of wine is the best choice:)
ReplyDeleteOh no. That is definitely no fun. And yes, the whining and crying are awful! I have D some Boiron Camillia drops. They're all natural and supposed to help with teething. Poor C and mama. I hope you all get some relief soon.
ReplyDeleteI could use a Marg. Thought the household was done with sickness and now it is back. Ugh.
ReplyDeleteHave you tried teething tablets? I never did with my first, but the second loves them (and they work!).
Teething sucks. I hope Conley will be the same as my boys - after the first two (always the hardest), they tackle the rest with little or no fuss.
ReplyDeleteHappy date night!
Hugs to you friend! Teething is the worst! :(
ReplyDeleteHere is hoping they continue to come in two at a time so it gets over more quickly- Alex's came in that way. Hang in there!
ReplyDeleteUgh, teething is no fun! My boys always handled the first two the worst, then the rest were a bit easier.
ReplyDeleteAnd yay for a date night! I hope you enjoyed it!
Oh man!!! How old is he??? My 3month old loves to gnaw on everything and is a drooling mess. No fever or lack of sleep but I'm thinking teething is coming up for us!! Ugh
ReplyDeleteOh my, just think it starts again in a few years when they start dropping teeth! and many don't realize that cutting those 6 and 12 year molars can be brutal! This is def a curse!
ReplyDeleteBack in my hometown, there was this bar called Margaritaville. The patio overlooked the lake and was lit by hundreds of patio lanterns and heating lamps. Awesome music was always playing. But the point of all this is.....they served the biggest margarita's I've ever seen.
ReplyDeleteGosh I miss that place :)
The teething is the absolute worst! I hope Conley gets better with it. H was a very bad teether. I always recommend professionally and personally the hylands tablets. They are great. Hope you are having a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteOh, how I remember those days of teething. Not fun. I agree with you about the mall play area; I think that's a cold or an illness just waiting to happen. May all of you be happy and healthy this 2013!
ReplyDeleteTeething. Ugh. It's a terrible time. Good luck and I hope you enjoyed your margaritas.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your new look!! It's gorgeous! So sorry to hear you were all sick, and now teething...ugh...you DO need a bottle of wine ;)

Does your mother-in-law come to your house or does she make you bring the boys to her house?
