The Winds of Change

It's really hard to believe my oldest will be starting Kindergarten this fall. He is SO EXCITED about going, and after Legos it's one of the topics he mentions the most.

I have no fear that he won't excel...minus getting up early every morning. This boy needs his 12 hours of sleep!

I'm sad to see this time come as I'll miss our Mondays and Fridays. The boys attend a Mother's Day Out/Preschool program, and it's Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. It just works perfect. Mondays are our days to regroup---and take swim lessons. Friday is Fun Day most of the time, and we find some fun activity to do.

2016 is such a big year for us with adding a new addition in less than 8 weeks. I'm anxious, scared, and excited all at the same time. When I had Conley, Nolan was practically still a baby at only 21 1/2 months old. Now I'll have an almost 6 and 4 year old. Talk about a game changer! I'm hoping to enjoy this process more as the boys are older and are more independent. Before that time period was a huge blur and just about survival.

Before the third baby boy makes his arrival, we'll head to the beach as our last time as a family of four. It's bittersweet, but I know the boys will be great big brothers!

We almost have the nursery fully completed with one more wall to go!

  1. Ah that milestone! It was rough for me, but for very deep-rooted reasons, and not just the normal jitters all parents feel. Des will be going in two years and I swear that's when I better have a new baby!

  2. It is a tough milestone, but it's such a cool one too because your conversations with him will change. One of the hardest things for me to let go of when they went off to school, was NOT knowing what they would be doing all day. Just letting go of that need to be so involved. But, then they always come home with these great stories that they are so excited about, and they can't wait to share them with you!! It's such a thrill. The, the other side: the bad days, the "I feel dumb mommy" days, or worse - the bullying; but you see that they very much still need their mommy to make things better still. And they come to you for comfort still, but seeking your wisdom too. And it just rocks!! (scary as sh*t too of course, but mostly it's good when you get to work it out together.)
You have a good age spread: mine were all 2 years and a bit apart and then was a little challenging; but overall not too bad. I bet they will be great big brothers. :)

  3. They are so big! I have a hard time believing our kids have grown so much! My son will be entering 1st grade! Seriously, crazy town.

Just a few weeks until you're a mom of three! I've heard from friends that it's easier going from 2 to 3. I'm sure you'll rock it!
