You want to hug your children a little tighter.
You want to protect them from all the ugliness in the world.
You want to shield them from horrific events and let them continue to play in their little imagination worlds where the sky is the limit.
You wonder what the world has come to and if there is more evil than good.
Then you look at your child's face or the support the country has during this tragedy, and you realize in moments like these...
The good people do still outnumber the bad.
The heart and compassion the American people have is bigger than the anger and hatred that caused these events.
People will pray and help others in their time of need.
I send my prayers to the city of Boston, the runners, and families affected by these events.
Natalie
It's so unfortunate that some people would feel the need to hurt others to prove a point or spread fear.
ReplyDeleteI take solace in knowing that there are so many good people out there and so few bad ones. I hope they find out who did this so those families can have closure. :(
Well said Natalie. I've been really focusing on the good outweighing the bad. The bad are only a teeny tiny percentage of america and they will not win in the overall race of life. Period.
ReplyDeleteI just keep thinking that the love and light is so much more astounding than the sorely outnumbered darkness. It spreads and grows, despite hard times.
ReplyDeleteI agree. The good still outnumber the bad. Hugs to y'all.
ReplyDeletePerfectly said!
ReplyDeleteToday I was grateful that my son is too young to understand. But I know the day is coming when he won't be. So hard.
ReplyDeleteTotally agree...we live in such an amazing country and too see how many people helped is just incredible. Running into danger and never thought twice. Prayers for Boston.
ReplyDeletePerfectly written. It's amazing how we "see" things now, that we are mothers. It changes everything. I can't imagine what those poor people are going through.
ReplyDeleteBeautifully said! Yes, we all need to pray and show more kindness.
ReplyDeleteWhen I read the story about the little boy that died, I cried my eyes out as I held my baby close to me..
ReplyDeleteBeautifully said, Natalie. I have been focusing on the good. We need to in order to keep moving forward.
ReplyDeleteBeautifully written! We nned to see the good!
ReplyDeleteCouldn't agree more! Good will always outnumber evil! There will always be those people who run toward the disaster to help!
ReplyDeleteYes, exactly.

Such a sad, tragic event on what should have been a triumphant day for runners and families who support their astounding accomplishments. The world is indeed a scarier place today than it was so long before, or maybe is it that I am a mother now, the overwhelming sense of protecting them is what makes it scarier?
ReplyDeleteperfectly and beautifully expressed.
ReplyDeletewe keep you, our lovely neighbours, in our thoughts and prayers.
just let us know if you need some help kicking a little butt! :)
I'm catching up on some posts I missed! Beautifully written! Good does outweigh the bad.. sometimes the impact of the bad of one person makes us doubt! But you said it we come together, we pray, we help.
ReplyDeleteSuch a sad and heartbreaking tragedy...It is important we remember all the good people out there, and not let the bad ones cloud our thoughts.
