Nolan definitely gets stir crazy, and even the baby seems to get bored.
And lately it seems like everything involving them is a challenge. You know the usual meals, diaper changes, baths, nap times, bed times, and everything in between.
I just want to scream, "Why does everything have to be a battle? Why does it have to be difficult?"
I'm sure it's the fact that I'm still dealing with this sinus infection and the kiddos are fighting the remaining parts of their colds.
I just feel like if I hear one for whine or cry that I just might lock myself in the closet and throw away the key.
The good news is the husband and I did have a MUCH needed date night on Saturday. After the baby didn't nap all day, I was more than happy to hand him over to Grandma. We had a great time, and it was just what I needed.
Are you having the winter blues too and ready for spring?
Natalie
This winter really has been long! Glad you were able to have a date night.
ReplyDeleteWe are definitely not seeing snow but its under 50 and windy so that classifies as winter around here. I'm with you though, having kids makes winter so much harder to bear! Hang in there spring HAS to be here soon, right?!
ReplyDeleteYES! It's pretty unfortunate that I am born and raised in Minnesota and I never intend to leave. This winter has been brutal. It will NOT go away. I am so ready to see the sun, see grass and more importantly to get OUT of my house and spend time outside. I hear ya 100%.
ReplyDeleteWe had the a/c on last week. Today? It was in the 20s in the morning. I'm in a sweater. I don't get it either.
ReplyDeleteOh and the whining and fussing? Right there with you. Finally told D she's welcome to whine, but she has to do it in her room. That usually stops it pretty quickly. For about 5 minutes.
I swear there is something in the air, because my kids have been crazy disobedient lately...more so than just he normal toddler stuff! I have been wanting to rip out my hair. Doesn't help that the hubby works something insane like 76 hours this week! Makes me feel like a single parent at times.
ReplyDeleteIt's like our lives are exactly the same! Too bad we don't live closer:)
ReplyDeleteThe winter blues get to me so much more now. We were hit with a snow storm today and I am so not happy about that. Ugh. Silly groundhog!!
ReplyDeleteI hear you I am so so ready for Spring!! :-)
ReplyDeleteSO ready for Spring. Although, we got much needed moisture on Saturday. Now I'm ready for it to melt!
ReplyDeleteI hope the weather gets a little warmer for you guys soon... I always thought that groundhog was telling tall tales ;) Hang in there. I'm sure it will be here before you know it!
ReplyDeleteHope you all are doing well! :)
I HEAR YOU! It has been wacky weather here too. Snowed on Friday and today it is sunny (but still pretty cold). Leah is still out of sorts from being sick last week and we have been stuck inside SO much! Glad you got a date night though!!!
ReplyDeleteIn Maine, Spring really doesn't start until the end of April... which is way too far away (I am so ready) and it's driving me crazy.
ReplyDeleteIf we get another foot of snow, I'm going to go "have a nice talk" with that groundhog, for sure.
while you guys are battling the winter us here are battling with too much heat. So, we also locked inside the house with a/c in full blast. I can really feel you when you said that involving with the kids was a like a challenge. There are days also that I want to lock myself in the bathroom. Oh well, motherhood. right?
ReplyDeletegood luck, girl. and hope you'll feel better soon.
Didn't Mother Nature get the memo that it's Spring already?
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear you're not well, get better soon!
Me, me totally me! I am ready for spring!!! Hey I had a question for you. What program do you use to post your pictures and how did you get the Pinterest icon on them? They look great!
ReplyDeletedefinitely feeling the winter blues. still got 4 feet of snow on the ground -- but it has been warmer (is minus 3 warmer? ha) and so it is slowly starting to melt.
ReplyDeleteI am planning my daughter's birthday party which is in April -- and I always have to consider the weather here. Once, the guests could all play in the backyard in tshirts and running shoes. last year? they were out in snowsuits, hats and mittens building a snowman.
this is Canadian "spring" LOL
Hooray for date nights though, right!
spring comes and goes around here... wait let me take that back because most people would love to have the weather I think is "cold" here.
ReplyDeleteI'll just say, I'm hoping spring comes soon for you. That groundhog better watch his back. He's got a lot of people ticked off! LOL!
i feel ya - i'm getting a little stir crazy too! this winter is lasting WAY too long and i think everyone will be really happy once it's nice enough to go outside more and see some actual sunshine! hang in there!

Oh ma gosh yes. I am so flipping sick of winter.
ReplyDeleteWe are in the upper sixties so though that's chilly for us I don't mind. Summers are horribly hot and draining on the spirit so I'm ok with holding off on summer. We rarely get a spring or rather our winter is the spring.
ReplyDeleteI JUST posted about this yesterday! Winter seriously needs to GET OUT!
ReplyDeletePS - I'm hosting Easter Basket Showcase tomorrow and would love to see what's in Conley and Nolan's baskets this year!
Ohh but we are craving for Winter here in Australia! Bring on the layers and coats <3 But I can understand why everyone else is dying for Spring, so they can wear all the lovely colours and light clothes. Either way we always want what we don't have haha =)
ReplyDeleteLove from the NaNa girls xoxo
Amen, sista. Today was the first NICE day we have had in a while and I couldn't get outside fast enough! Let's hope that there is warmth on the horizon... I can't handle anymore winter!
